Xiaomi has done something right since debuting in China some four years ago, and with a recent price drop of one of their latest budget friendly handsets they continue to do what they do best. Xiaomi has quickly become one of the premium smartphone manufacturers in the world breaking their own sales records with Xiaomi smartphones, and the latest is more of the same.
The recent Xiaomi Redmi 2A price drop in China reduced the already low price from 599 Yuan to 499 Yuan. In a matter of hours, more than 200,000 handsets were sold on their cheapest Xioami smartphone yet. Xioami leads all other manufacturers in smartphone sales within China, although Apple leads in exports by only 1%.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2A sports a 4.74” IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280, 1GB RAM, Leadcore 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera, and a 2MP front-facing camera. A modest 2200 mAh battery keeps the lights on while Android 5.0 comes preinstalled.
