The top three leading companies for China smartphone sales are looking to switch places as the current leader Xiaomi is looking onward with Apple closing in. Over the course of four years, Xiaomi has made more than a name for themselves as they have quickly become the top manufacturer of smartphones in their home country. As we look to the future of things to come, some believe that Apple just may retake the top spot over the coming months.
Let’s not forget about Huawei which is currently third in smartphone sales in China. Huawei too has made a name for themselves while aggressively targeting the Chinese market, and has done a great job over the past year. With upcoming releases still to come, it will be interesting to see what this does for the long-term.
Xiaomi claims almost 13% of the market shipping over 14 million smartphones in China during Q1 of 2015. Apple is a close second with just over 12% of the market and shipping just over 13 million handsets with Huawei 10%.
With upcoming flagships still to come such as the Xiaomi Mi5, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and the recently released Huawei P8 Max and P8. it’s anybody’s guess where things will be in Q2. China smartphone sales 2015 for Q2 will rely heavily on the recently released flagships by Huawei, and the upcoming releases by Xiaomi and Apple.
