T-Mobile customers who have been waiting for the first sightings of Lollipop on the Xperia Z3 won’t have to wait any longer as it’s just been spotted. Sony has been somewhat slow in rolling out Android 5.0 to their handsets, but now the wait is finally over.
The T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3 Android 5.0 update has been spotted via the OTA install option, and more importantly, no issues are being reported. 5.0 brings some much needed enhancements and users will also note LTE Band 2 support built into the Lollipop update.
One of the biggest noticeable differences between 5.0 and the current operating system on the Xperia Z3 is the Material Design enhancements. A much improved user interface, improved graphics, and many more options built right in. SmartLock, Priority Mode notifications, and lock screen options will also become popular features.
If you have yet to see the T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3 Android 5.0 OTA install, give it time as it will take a couple of weeks before it reaches all handsets. Most have probably already seen the install option as it was released through T-Mobile at 12 midnight PST last night/this morning and you’ve probably seen the first-sighting when you woke up this morning.
As always, be sure to back-up your device prior to installing any update, especially an update of this magnitude.
