Over the course of the Sony Xperia Z series of smartphones, we have been introduced to two new flagships per year. For the most part, most manufacturers typically release one flagship per year which has been against the unconventional method of Sony smartphones. In 2015 this is rumored to change as the Sony Xperia Z4 rumors suggest more of a conventional release date schedule.
The new changes won’t actually start with the next coming in the Z smartphone series, but will lay the foundation for future releases. Currently, we have been privy to some strong information that suggests we will see the Sony Xperia Z4 during the 1st quarter of 2015. After that, many would have thought that the Xperia Z5 would be released during the fall of this year, but the current information suggests otherwise.
As Sony looks to recoup some of their losses due to declining sales over the past couple of years, leaks suggest that the Xperia Z4 release date will be in March of 2015. This will start more of a conventional release date schedule as the Z5 is expected to be in March 2016, and not in the fall of 2015.
This is actually really good news for consumers as the intentions on concentrating on one flagship device will enable Sony to get back to the top of the smartphone market. With rumors on things to come in the Xperia Z4 concept including a 21 MP front camera, 7 MP rear camera, optical image stabilization feature, an octa-core processor, and a 4K display.
Some of the most intriguing rumors are not in the specs or features, but instead of three versions of the Xperia Z4. Rumored to be a Compact, standard size, and a larger Ultra that is believed to be 6.1 inches. The Z4 will be running on the current Android Operating System and should have all the bugs worked out by the time of the March 2015 release. With the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 update, many of the performance and feature bugs should all be a thing of the past.
