Sony has been receiving a lot of bad press relating to overheating issues with the Snapdragon 810 SoC, and just days ago they announced Firmware updates would be on the way for the Sony Xperia Z3+, Z4, and Z4 tablet. Today sparks the first sighting for updates for both the Z3+ and Z4 tablet in markets including Japan and throughout Europe where the devices have already launched and are set to debut in the coming weeks.
A Sony Xperia Z3+ firmware update is now available for those in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan which goes by the model version 28.0.A.7.24 and is currently being pushed out. The same update is also on the way to other markets including The Netherlands, India, Singapore, Turkey, Russia, UK, and Vietnam where the Z3+ will be launched over the next few weeks.
There is also a firmware update available for the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet which is version #28.0.A.7.24 in many markets in Asia. Both the Z4 tablet and Z3+ feature the Snapdragon 810 SoC which has been filled with controversy due to the overheating that has been noted over the past couple of weeks.
The Xperia Z4 smartphone which was launched in Japan is expected to get a similar firmware update, although it’s yet to be seen as of yet. Sony really needs these updates to fix the overheating concerns as Sony Mobile is suffering the most with the recent consumer reports with two of their most recent flagships.
