Samsung has broken from tradition in an apparent effort to announce new releases before Apple steals the show in September. In the past, Samsung has unveiled new products at the IFA conference in Berlin, but they have made some changes to get a leg up on the competition. If you missed the August 13, 2015 event, you can watch this video to catch up on what you can expect from Samsung in the coming months.
Without spoiling too much, it looks like the future is of Samsung is both bigger and more stylish. The new Samsung S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 have officially crossed the line into the world of phablets. Both phones come with a generous 5.7 inch screen. If you are an android phone and you enjoy the benefits of a larger screen, you may be excited about this notable change. However, those who are more concerned with function over form, this new release may be relatively anti-climactic.
What is perhaps more interesting is launch of the Gear S2 SmartWatch. While it looks like consumers will still have to wait till September to get their hand on the watch and learn more about specifications, Samsung has given the world a sneak peek at the design and the photos are stunning. It is easy to tell just from the presentation that the focus here is on style. This may be one of the first smartwatches that actually looks and feels like a high end watch while also offering all the techie features of a smartwatch. Many critics have commented that the high fashion style photoshoot that was used to highlight the Gear S2 is a little over the top, it is hard to deny the striking good looks of the watch.
