If you’re rocking a Motorola Droid Turbo and are one of the many awaiting the release of Lollipop then you’ll be happy to know the update is almost here. Motorola confirmed the Android 5.1 rollout will begin on June 10th via the OTA install and customers will begin seeing the onscreen option. The Motorola Droid Turbo Android 5.1 update integrates feature from both 5.0 and 5.1 making it the complete package.
The Droid Turbo Android 5.1 release is slightly later than expected, but Motorola elected to skip 5.0 and move right to the newest Lollipop update. This is what many manufacturers are doing with the numerous glitches related to 5.0 causing many launch delays.
Starting the 10th, you can check manually for the 5.1 update by going to your phone’s Settings > System Updates and look for build # 23.11.23. Many features will be integrated including Google’s Material Design, improved battery efficiency, improved security, faster processing making apps open faster, new notifications via the Lock Screen, and the ability to access Quick Settings from any screen.
One of the biggest complaints consumers have had with the Droid Turbo are problems relating to the battery. Motorola says that these problems are now a thing of the past after the install of Android 5.1.
