The long-awaited LG Watch Urbane smartwatch has just been made official and will be released to the public by the end of the month. 13 countries in all will see the May 1st LG Watch Urbane release date which will debut in South Korea before being featuring in other markets worldwide.
The follow-up to the LG G Watch R is one of the most anticipated smartwatches of the year, and many believe it will be a direct competitor to the Apple Watch that debuts around the same time. There will be a standard Urbane version along with an LTE version that will feature 4G connectivity, as both are expected to sell out in many markets before it even hits a store near you.
Consumers can pick up the LG Watch Urbane from the Google Play Store before the end of the month and analysts believe the launch price will be slightly more than when the G Watch R debuted. Rumored to be in the $350 price range with the LG Watch Urbane LTE price likely to be closer to $400 – $450, and will be the better option of the two.
13 countries in all will feature the LG Watch Urbane release by the end of the month including the South Korea, US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Spain, India, Ireland, Hong Kong, and Italy. It’s not known of the LTE model will be released at the same time, although we’ve been hearing rumors that both will be released at the same time.
The LG Watch Urbane specs have been made official, and below will show you what to expect:

- 3” P-OLED display
- 512 MB memory
- 410 mAh battery
Out of the box, the Watch Urbane will be featured with Wi-Fi support with Android 5.1 pre-installed. The Wi-Fi support will allow users to connect Urbane to Wi-Fi which will allow use of messaging features, email, and other features without having to be tethered to your smartphone.
The new Android Wear 5.1 update is currently being rolled out to smarwatches that have the Wi-Fi feature installed, and has been waiting activation for the new 5.1 update. Other features of the update include adjustable font size and customizable pop up notifications as well.
