According to new leaks, there will be not one, but two Xiaomi Mi5 flagships that are set to be released right around the corner. Consumers have been patiently waiting for news on what presumably will be the launch of the Xiaomi Mi5, but leaks suggest there will also be a larger, Mi5 Plus debuting at the same time.
The China Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus release is believed to start in mid-July before heading to India and other markets. The Plus is rumored to be a premium version of the Mi5 and is expected to be slightly bigger. Giving consumers what they want is something that Xiaomi has been doing over the past four years, and this year’s flagships look even more impressive.
The Xiaomi Mi5 release is believed to feature a fingerprint scanner which coincides with a new patent that was recently filed by Xiaomi. The patent would integrate fingerprint technology right into the home-screen of a handset which most believe will debut in both the Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus.
Besides the fingerprint scanner, the Mi5 is expected to sport a 5” – 5.2” display, Qualcomm 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 20 MP rear camera, and a 7 MP front-facing camera. Leaks on the Mi5 Plus are expected to feature a 5.8” – 6.0” screen, UHD resolution, and at least 4GB RAM.
Stay tuned on what seems to be a July 2015 Xiaomi Mi5 release and the debut of the Mi5 Plus as we’ll be bringing you all there is to know starting with the launch in China.
