Days ago we reported that Samsung is releasing many micro updates for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and today one of these OTA updates have been spotted on the AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge. To clarify, the new update is not Android 5.1 that many are patiently waiting for, but instead, the ATA&T Galaxy S6 Edge Android 5.0.2 update improves many performance related issues.
The AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge Android 5.0.2 update is relatively small at 236MB, and improves battery efficiency, messaging, display graphics, and many other issues expecting to give consumers a much better experience.
The following are some of the new enhancements you will see with the AT&T GS6 Edge OTA update:
- Increased time to power on/off your device from .5 seconds to 1.5 seconds
- Enhanced messaging through AT&T
- Enhanced screen rotation
- Enhanced high definition voice support
- Enhanced battery efficiency
- Enhanced graphics on-screen
Many of you who own a Galaxy S6 Edge may not have noticed any of the above issues, but AT&T is hoping the new Android 5.0.2 update will improve your overall experience. If you haven’t seen the update via the on-screen install display, you will, as it will take time to be pushed to all GS6 Edge handsets.
You can always check to see if the update is available by going to your phones Settings > System > System Updates > Check for New System Update. As always, it’s recommended to install the update while connected to Wi-Fi for the fastest download times, and be sure to back-up your device prior to the installation.
