Asus confirmed the ZenWatch 2 launch will come at the annual Computex event which will be held during the 1st week of June in Taiwan. The annual event has become the catalyst of many tech launches, and this year’s event is expected to be one of the best. The follow-up to the best-selling Asus ZenWatch has already peaked consumer interest for those looking for what looks to be one of this year’s best.
The Asus ZenWatch 2 launch in Taiwan was confirmed through invites that were just sent out for the event on June 2nd through June 5th. Past events has seen Asus launching tablets, laptops, smartphones, and other products, and this year’s event is expected to be more of the same.
The Asus ZenWatch 2 is rumored to feature SIM card support that will allow users to send/receive text messages and make phone calls without having to be tethered to a smartphone. Featuring its own data plan mean consumers will have to pay a monthly carrier fee, but should only be around $10/month. The ZenWatch 2 will also be featured on the Android Wear operating system and will have Wi-Fi support with the latest operating system update.
Rumors on new Intel premium tablets along with a new tablet series are also expected to be made official. Two of the new premium tablets that are expected to be made official are the ZenPad 7 and ZenPad 8. Both will be powered by an Intel SoCom processor, and will feature a 7” and 8” display respectively
