Keeping up with the latest Lollipop updates has been difficult, especially considering that one handset is getting this and the next is getting that only to find out that neither may be coming at all. The latest info on the 1st generation Motorola Moto X confirms our suspicions, and makes the most sense as its confirmed we’ll see 5.1 instead of 5.0.
The 1st Gen Motorola Moto X Android 5.1 update is expected to be made official in the coming weeks setting up what may be a release by the end of this month. Early on, there was speculation that Motorola would forego Lollipop all-together with the 1st generation Moto X, but this has long been dismissed.
A Motorola executive stated last month that 5.1 was currently in the final stages of testing in many European markets for the 1st Get Moto X, and was expected to be released by now. Weeks later and still no Lollipop sighting, but we know it’s only a matter of time.
Those of us here in the states are still hoping to see the 1st Gen Moto X Android 5.1 update by the end of this month, but it’s all dependent on how long it takes for carriers to blend their personalized, finishing touches.
